This spring I set off with a few friends on a quest for a basil plant and it quickly took on a life of its own. Over the course of a single weekend my one little basil plant turned into two basil plants, five tomato plants, and an assortment of decorative flowers scattered about. I kept telling myself that since I was going to be out there anyway … how much more work could a few more plants be?

When Lauren Grier and I decided to work on a project together I had words like grow and bloom on my mind  – and it turned out she had a little garden of her own going, as well. Our new collaboration, Take Root, has its roots in gardening for sure (see what I did there?) but it’s suitable for so much more. It’s a really versatile theme for everything from kids to personal growth. I think you’ll find yourself inspired in a multitude of ways.
